Which single channel marshall will yield the biggest roundest clean tone and take pedals well. I am on an amp quest. I have a 50 watt marshall clone that sounds fine for a crunchy rock'n tone. I have a carr slant6 that has very good fender type tone. What I am looking for is an amp that will give me that really nice round clean tone ala, little wing, hey joe but will take my dirt pedals well.
what do you think? jtm 45? 1959slp?

Another vote for the JTM 45, but the reissues sound pretty flat and lifeless. Build a Metro JTM 45 for cheaper and get better tone.

Yeah. I don't care much for the reissue in stock form either.

There's a few guys that can do a JTM right.

    Try a Germino 45, Reinhardt JKC33, or Vintage 50.

Actually the Sentinal would be Bob's JTM style amp. The JKC / Vintage 50 is more a plexi style amp.

I've heard some of the clips for the germino classic 45. Are there any for the metro 45?

    I could never peg my '85 JCM800 #1992 4 hole Superbass 100watter.
Too freakin clean and loud. Absolutely loved pedals though.

Had David Bray do his 1959SLP mod with rear mounted master volume and it's usable at any volume now without pedals. Still scary loud/clean without the master though.

They are out there and very cheap !
