    Haha, fun article!

I feel like I’ve been different ones at different times

As a teenager I was the metalhead. Also went through a Jazz cat phase

Now, I feel like some weird combination of The Pro and The Hipster :)

I'm a wannabee. I want to play more, play better, play easier, play more variety, etc, etc, etc.

    Interesting-ish.

I tested out Pro, but am more of a Journeyman:
    - Parts-o-Tele and a sleeper beater acoustic that's inexpensive but versatile for gigs
    - Simple pedals
    - Simple Fender amp (Tweed Deluxe)
    - Plays open mics and gets offers to back up singer-strummers and rock n' rollers - a dependable non-gunslinger with an easy pocket and decent fills if needed.

I am so Weekend Warrior, even down to the spot-on gear choices.

I am also Metalhead until I die.

They forgot the Blooz Lawyer and similar ilk. Edit: never mind, the Dentist covers it. :D

I guess I'm a combo of the Dentist and the Aging Rocker. I own good gear, play at home, and channel my heroes when I play (Gibbons, Angus, Starr, Collins).

I'm a metalhead, but per the article, the wizard is the closest.

I chose weekend warrior and, at heart, I like 70s hard rock and 80's metal.

However, I play in a developing corporate/weddings band so would like to think I adopt aspects of the pro approach. I'm certainly very practical about my gear choices these days.

Funny, I don't fit exactly in one category but would say I am a mix of the Pro and Idiot Savant, with more Pro in it. The poll needs a 12th category. :D

I'm an aging. gigging pro guitarist, and have worked as a mfr rep and clinician for years ( don't do guitars or clinics anymore, too little money left in that part of the biz)
Play in church and have for 30 years. but I also gig a LOT with a working rock band and country band, Do the occasional blues thing.
Still trying to find the perfect guitar and amp combos. Not there but man I'm close :)

if Britpopper was about US 90s Indy/Grunge/Psychedelia, crossed with a bit of former Weekend Warrior

    The Lousy Guitarist

Gear: something weird no one plays
Technique: terrible, but sometimes almost sounds not like nails on a chalkboard
Venue: his basement, with headphones to not disturb the kids

I refused to be categorized - preferring instead to let my vast, global fanbase decide for themselves. The world is my market segment and business is good!! (alarm clock goes off... wakes up to harsh reality...trudges off to his mundane, meaningless spreadsheet munging job.)
