Grab the Crybaby..its a classic wah wound...I'm guessing the Wylde is set up more for high gain tones.

If you have to get one of those two, the Crybaby.

I would recommend passing on both, saving up and getting a Teese. No Dunlop compares IMO, and you might waste money on modding them. Next time, I'll just get the Area 51 or RMC1 and be done with it.

I'd try one first if you get the chance - wahs are very personal IMO. I've been through 3 or 4 and finally settled on a Fulltone Clyde - love mine!

The 535 is a great wah. The multiple settings are awsome. I had one and gigged with it for several years, only reason I got rid of it, the pot started going out... it never occured to me I could have changed it...

Is the 535Q really true bypass?

Yeah, get the VOX V848 Clyde Reissue, I tried a bunch and landed on this one. It's actually the closest to the Hendrix, SRV, sound. And it's true bypass.

The 535Q is, but the older 535 (no Q) isn't, it's fully buffered with soft switching - not mechanical like the Q or the standard CryBaby, even though it's still operated with a click switch.

I actually much prefer the 535 over the 535Q, I just think it sounds better, even though it doesn't have as much control (four presets not 6, and no Q control, but it does have the adjustable boost) - it also has LEDs for On and Boost which are a must-have for me on a gigging pedal. In fact, it's my favorite wah - I A/B'd it to a Cylde Deluxe and kept the Dunlop.

I like the crybaby classic with the fasel inductor and the hot potz pot.
I am not sure if it is true bypass,( if someone knows, please do tell) but it most certainly is lush.

I would highly recommend saving up and getting the Teese. I have two; the Picture Wah and the RMC3 and they are both incredible. I've been trying out wah's for 30 years and these are it.

If you really don't want to spend that much money, the Dunlop GCB-95F Crybaby Classic Wah's are decent.
