I really like Tandler. I have a couple of his single cuts and each of them is excellent. He knows his wood very well. If there‘s a tone you‘re after, he can build the guitar to get there. (If he doesn‘t have the right wood he‘ll tell you too. He‘s busy enough and is completely no-nonsense. I always find that very refreshing.)
That‘s why I have a couple. Liked the first one so much that I wanted another one but he advised me to go for a slightly different tone (Kossoff‘s Les Paul).

The most recent axe he built for me was a classical acoustic. I play it every day.
The guy really knows his stuff.

    Absolutely!
I keep telling the story about Jörg , how he - almost 30 years ago (when I first met him in a little guitar shop in Mainz, Germany) took apart 3 Telecaster style guitars , rearranged parts ( bodies , necks as well as hardware and pickups) right on the spot in the shop , tapping the wooden parts , listening, tapping again - and finally put together a Partscaster that sounded unbelievable. Jörg was best in class of instrument builders of his year and to my knowledge then already received an official reward by the prime minister of Bavaria . Jörg REALLY does know his stuff!

I don’t believe in “best”, but Schwartz are damn fine guitars.
