I have always liked the gibson / Fender amp pairing. But lately I've been really into a DRRI and my ESP Eclipse. It's a great guitar and it just sounds incredible through the DR and the humbuckers add some midrange. The clean sounds with this combo is really nice as well.

Fender amps + Humbuckers >>>>>>>>> fender amp + single coils.

They just drive so smoothly with humbuckers

Yep. I play mostly Gibsons through my Deluxe at pretty much every gig I do.

DRRI and an LP Classic 1960 were my craigslist scores this winter in Florida. I've had several DRRI's over the years and always thought highly of the amp. This was my first Gibson LP after several Epi's. Sweet combination to play. DRRI was totally stock and the C12K was well broken in. New JJ's was all it needed. The LP had the thinner neck and chambered body. Weighs in around 8 lbs. Easy on the ears!

If I'm not mistaken Joe B has been playing old Fender Deluxes instead of his usual Marshall/Cat5/Van Weedlen setup for the past few months and I must say it sounds nice.

Me too! But I wanna know how many of you prefer to plug into the input #2 for a little less gain + more headroom? My SFDR has a Swamp Thang in it and I really notice the extra headroom this way.

a classic pairing - that combination of guitar/DR worked out well for Peter Green in the orig. Fleetwood Mac...

I love these these Gibson guitars into Fender amps threads.
It's been going on awhile like 65 years or so.

I like it, but I always use my Ayan Smooth and Slim pedal, which cuts a little bass.
