When I think of Charlie Christian.... I think inventive, musical, groundbreaking and hugely influential - not really tasteful, per se

In fact, he had chops to spare - especially for the time

Guess it depends what qualifiers you’re using to categorize as “tasteful“, I guess
(which for me, is usually melody and simplicity over technique and speed)
Take a listen. You don’t find this tasty?

By the way - I love your choices of Harrison, Campbell and Easton - totally agree that they come up with the parts that serve the song while also being great guitar. Easton’s leads are pocket novels.

As already mentioned, Gilmour, Schon, Warren Haynes.

Anyone say Clapton yet?

Not sure if any mentioned Frampton but, most melodic modal player IMHO.

Another woefully underrated player that belongs in this category...

Zal Yanovsky (from the Lovin’ Spoonful)

Would I be the first to suggest Lasse Wellander?

Then EJ would be my most obvious suggestion
Andy Timmons, Mark Knopler and Dave Gilmour you know, Mike Campbell, Jonas Isacsson, Lindsay Buckingham...

I'd like to toss in an unknown, I don't even know his name lol. Incredibly tasteful solos and rhythms, I've changed up my playing after listening to this and their other EP.
