Who sang "What a Wonderful World" at the Oscars?

    One of my favorite songs and whoever she was did a wonderful job. Super expressive, especially for a youngster.

    I really liked Esperanza and the choir, but substituting illustrations for moving pictures of most of the performers in the In Memoriam section was pretty lame -- especially when they were not entirely consistent.

    She's also an exceptional jazz bass player. Among other bands she played in Joe Lovano's Us Five.

    She won last years Grammy for best new artist. I knew she was an exceptional musician, didn't kno she had pipes

    Actually, all three of them. The first one, on a small indy label, got kinda buried when she signed with her current label. Although in their defense they did 'let' her follow-up the accessible self-titled record with the outside-the box "Chamber Music Society."

    Lot of us double-bass players think she's an even better DB player than she is a singer. And that's saying quite a lot.

    I think it's tremendous that the Oscars chose her to do that bit. Her continued success offers proof that talent occasionally gets recognized.
