1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

One of my favorite songs and whoever she was did a wonderful job. Super expressive, especially for a youngster.

    Here is audio

I really liked Esperanza and the choir, but substituting illustrations for moving pictures of most of the performers in the In Memoriam section was pretty lame -- especially when they were not entirely consistent.

She's also an exceptional jazz bass player. Among other bands she played in Joe Lovano's Us Five.

Actually, all three of them. The first one, on a small indy label, got kinda buried when she signed with her current label. Although in their defense they did 'let' her follow-up the accessible self-titled record with the outside-the box "Chamber Music Society."

Lot of us double-bass players think she's an even better DB player than she is a singer. And that's saying quite a lot.

I think it's tremendous that the Oscars chose her to do that bit. Her continued success offers proof that talent occasionally gets recognized.
