Those things stated above cannot possibly be true.

It does put things into perspective. I realized the same thing when trying to get my kids, 14 & 9, into my music.
Me asking my kids to like Van Halen I ('78) is like if my parents had asked me to like Glenn Miller and Jimmy Dorsey ('41).

Ya know I was reflecting on something like this just the other day.

In 1974 while on vacation I met a WWII veteran from my home town who had been a tail gunner on a B-17. At the time I was reading Martin Caidin's book about B-17's and I was fascinated with his stories about going on raids to Brest and Schweinfurt.

Like the OP in this thread, I started doing some date math and realized that at the time (1974) he was telling me 30 year old stories and it is now 41 years later.

    Yikes!

The wheel is turning and you can't slow down
You can't let go and you can't hold on
You can't go back and you can't stand still

    That's scary!

Oh and its closer to drive from San Diego to El Paso (724 miles), than it is to drive from El Paso to Houston (745 miles).

Oh wait, off topic--I getting so old it's hard to remember what the discussion is about!

Eh, nobody's gettin' any younger, and there's only one way to stop gettin' older.

And yet, when a thread is started about the greatest films ever made - none will be mentioned that were made before Star Wars.
