i have an old 3 knob fender blender that sounds wonderful. unfortunately one of the pots has gotten scratchy and i believe the footswitch needs to be replaced. normally id do it myself but i want it done right. any recommendations for people who would do this kind of repair?

Go to guitar center and ask them. They can usually tell you about a couple electronics repair places in the area that do good work. They use them to fix gear too.

If its just a pot, you'd have a hard time doing it wrong. However absolutely anyone that knows how to hold a soldering iron could do it for you. Look at local hackerspaces.

Sonic VI on the D*A*M Forum. Too bad I can't find him here. You could also try John at Basic Audio (he's on here). BTW: normally you can spray the pots to clean 'em and the switch should be easy if you go piece by piece.

You could go on the BYOC forum and ask if there are any locals that could help - worked for me once to troubleshoot a pedal build, and the kind person refused to accept any token of my appreciation

Was going to say Sonic VI as well, mainly because I have a '68 Fender Blender that was his and he kept it in top condition! He does all kinds of repairs and builds a mean fuzz himself.

If you were north jersey instead of central, i'd say it was worth a trip up to Main Drag Music here in williamsburg. those guys have always taken care of my old pedals - calibrations, pots, battery snaps, what have you.
