Who's got a 2017 Gibson LP Tribute?

How do you like it? How's the QC? How do you like the pickups?

General thoughts?

Thanks. GAS for a LP is strong. Budget is not.

Also considering an Epi Tribute Plus. Those are killer. I just think I want a Gibson. I've been disappointed by them in the past, but played one last week at GC that turned my head and I can't stop the GAS now.

Anyway, input is appreciated.

I have one...a 2017 LP Satin Gold Top. Like everything about it. Pickups sound fine to me. Nice weight at 8lbs 3oz.

I've never owned a Les Paul prior to this. I have three Fender strats and a Squire HH tele. I've owned numerous PRS guitars in the past. Wanted to try a Les Paul so gave this a shot. Ordered mine from Sweetwater Sound. Initially had a little difficulty playing since I was used to the Strat scale length. Got used to it quickly.

I decided to try out a Gibson Les Paul Standard and a Traditional . Nice guitars but the Tribute had all I needed, so sent the others back.

I have a 17 GT also. First Les Paul I've owned, but I played it alongside a 17 Classic and a 16 Trad and took the Tribute home. I actually liked the satin top and the unbound fretboard, it felt faster and cleaner to me than the binding, even though I went to the store with full intentions of buying a bound model. Mine is a 1 piece body and resonates awesomely. I'm a notorious modder, however this one is all stock and going to remain so for the time being. If youre buying from a big box store, make sure you ask what they can do. Even though mine had just came in, I got 15% off. Ive heard of others getting 20% off and at that price they are a real steal.

i really like the GT. I also like the honey burst-y color.

i stopped by guitar center this afternoon and was honestly more impressed by the Epiphone line than the Gibbies I played. I checked out a 2017 tribute (pretty ok...not crazy about the pickups) and a couple of studio deluxes, vs. some Epiphone LPs and a 339.

I don't know now. Might be time to start looking at alternatives again.. Last time this happened I wound up with a Revstar, and it's great, so not sure what the endgame might be.

I recently bought a 2017 Tribute in High Performance Spec in Honey Burst. I didn't even want to buy a guitar that day just a delay. I grabbed that guitar for testing the delayand it felt so awesome that I ended up buying the delay AND the guitar.
I played Gibsons LPs before, including a 2008 Studio, a Custom Shop Slash Signature and a 2016 Standard T, but the Tribute felt faster and easier to play (probably due to the HP spec which gives you a slightly wider neck and a smooth transition from neck to body). It might also have been that particular instrument.

I also like the looks and feel of the matte finish.

AFAIK the pickups are regular 57' Classics.

Me me me me....

I like it, QC? It had a few sharp fret ends(weather, voodoo, why it happens, etc. I’m not saying anything about that, just saying it had them). The nut is super sharp on the edges. The fretwork is really good other than the ends. Nothing that can’t be tweaked. Mine’s about 8.5lbs I think, I forget. The pickups sound good, I’ll probably lower mine. This guitar is super resonant, loud unplugged, sustains well & plugged in it does the thing. Pretty happy. The neck is their “Slim Taper”, I don’t find it all that slim. I played a few ’17 Tributes locally and the necks felt different so I dunno. Pretty happy.
