Me. It's usually us "weekend warriors" that have more expendable income than professional musicians.

My favorite guitarist doesn't use pedals, but his instrument and amps costs way more than my rig.

I thought it was an interesting question.
I tend not to post in threads I don't care about.

pedals are fun...there I said it. My influences, faves have way more invested than me in their equipment. Most of them have large swicthing systems and rack drawers full of pedals.

Depends on which favorite you mean.
Today my favorite is David Torn, so he smokes me for pedalboard/rack fun.

Yesterday my favorite was Mick Ronson, but his ORIGINAL MKI tonebender is probably worth the value of my entire board. (of course he has passed and has many fabulous new effects that only the deceased have even heard)

and finally tomorrow I will listen exclusively to Marc Ribot, I think we are neck and neck, but i probably have one or 2 more than him.

    Warren Haynes-much more expensive
    Derek Trucks-much less expensive

And they both sound better than me!

I've got a lot of good stuff but Gilmour is my man sooooo... I think he's probably got me beat.

And I bet for as many of us with absurd pedal collections, they are dwarfed by the big guys' amps & guitars.

I think pedal boards are probably closer in price than other gear. Some musicians bring a wall of speakers and more of them use rack gear than TGPers it seems. Not to mention backup gear, huge guitar collections, a number of mics and even cables. I used to look at Trey's rig stuff a lot and people try to match his sound with 2 TS9 Silvers and a CompROSSor, which is like $450 used... his guitar is worth more than my car.
