Just wondering what my alternatives are in buying a nice double bound Telecaster. I have and like a '62 AVRI from Fender, but I'd like something with a flatter radius if possible.

Where should I be looking at around $2000? Danocaster? Suhr? Fender CS?

I think Fender Japan was making some double-bound Teles at some point.

Why not just get a flatter radius neck made to your specs?

For way less than a new guitar, you can have your fret board re-radiused and refretted. I had it done to an AV 62 Strat when I had it refretted and the result is very good. And under 3 bills. If you like the guitar/neck, re-radius. I also have an AV 62 Tele and it gets the job done as well as the others. No more Telecaster searching. Or get a replacement neck if you want to keep it original.

Unless you just really want a new guitar?

USACG neck and body, add hardware - boom! The Tele you always dreamed of.

You are a step ahead of most as you seem to know what radius you like. I'm a 12" radius fan on a Tele too.

I did that with my tele. Replaced the 7.25 with a Warmoth compound radius fatback, jumbo frets, and WOW what a great playing tele.

Some nice guitars here. I'd probably lean away from building my own at the moment. Re-radiusing my AVRI is an interesting idea I haven't thought of and might do the trick. Those Danocasters sure look nice though.

I'd really only be interested in selling it if I find something like a Thinskin or a boutique model. The guitar is great, and I'm not looking to get rid of it unless I find something that I'll like just as much if not more.

    So Cal, homie. Ratta-Tat-Tat.
Danos absolutely KILL the Fender Custom Shop stuff out there. Danocaster without doubt. No comparison when you play them side by side. Dan is simply making a better guitar for less money.
