Thinking of the Gubmint Crackdown Series they put out when they got busted using improperly sourced/cited wood.

LOL! You guys crack me up! But I DO hope the employees at Gibson are able to keep their jobs, but one person needs to go and that is Henry J! He is who got them into this mess to begin with. From a Bloomberg article:

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...bankruptcy-with-deal-to-renew-guitar-business

Juszkiewicz, who has found himself at odds with creditors in recent months, will continue with the company upon emergence from bankruptcy “to facilitate a smooth transition,” according to the agreement. Court papers call for a one-year consulting deal and compensation package for Juszkiewicz. A representative for the company didn’t respond to questions about whether Juszkiewicz will remain as CEO or in a separate role.
So it may be...BYE BYE HENRY J!

    I don’t know. I wasn’t interested.
The 2017-2018 Gibson’s will forever be known as the Bankruptcy guitars. Guitars made when the company was cutting as many corners as possible trying to save as much as possible to prolong the inevitable.

I’m afraid these guitars will not hold their value as well as prior years.

Sad. I do really dig Gibson's guitars and I was really interested in one of those 335's but they were still just out of my range.

I maintain that the headless SG from the other thread is the perfect Henry J Sig guitar, you know, the SG with the headstock shoved up it's rear end...

    Edit: this one!

The USA stuff maybe but their custom shop stuff has been some of the best guitars they've made in years.

Yeah right! Keep your fingers crossed...The ones I purchased were some of the best Gibson's I've played. I was pleasantly surprised.

As soon as I read the thread title, I couldn't help but think the fellas at the Fish & Wildlife office are laughing their @$$e$ off right now at Henry, and his gov't model guitars in 12 different "shades of grey" that he tried to swing at them in retaliation.

If you really know the deal with Gibson’s bankruptcy proceedings, you could probably guess that a whole lot of nothing is going to happen with their guitars.

The Bankruptcy was filed by ‘Gibson Brands’, and though the guitars are part of it, its one of the few parts that were profitable. If you think they would dismantle the profitable part of a company struggling to pay back debtors, you’re crazy.

Gibson is going to dismantle just about everything BUT their guitars, and let the guitars continue to actually make money.

I don’t know how many times it needs to be said that their guitar sales were not the problem - Gibson over-extended themselves on loans from purchasing other companies to try and make a lifestyle brand, and failed.

They were cutting so many corners that they were making the 335's out of plywood.

    Just seen:

    For Sale
Like new pre-bankruptcy 2017 Gibson Les Paul.
This is one of the great ones from the era when Gibson was still a single-owner, pre corporate driven profit center.
    Won't last long!
    Only $27,500 + shipping.

Pretty sure my 2017 335 63 RI is made from popsicle sticks and elmers glue. Total junk.

If anyone has cherry red one to ditch let me know, I want to nail it up on my wall. I'll give you $299 and pay shipping.
