Why Are Danelectro Backtalk Prices So Insane?

This might've been the first pedal I ever owned, and I just realized the used prices on these things are nuts. One sold on Reverb for 500 bucks recently (others still selling for 200+). Even though it's discontinued, seems crazy for a plastic danelectro box. (edit: its metal, not plastic).
