I've owned 3 of them in the last 5 years. The last one being one of the early Ferrari Yellow CS models.
I always wind up selling them for some reason, but after a while I always want another one. Are there similar pedals that I like as much or better? Yes, but for some reason it's always the FD2 that keeps sitting in the back of my mind.

Mike must put something in them.

After selling my last one (of three) in late 2000, I just picked up a 1997. It sounds great into a Z Maz 18.

If it sounds great, it sounds great. Doesn't matter what name is on it.

We'll see how well it holds up to a Red Snapper that ought be here by mid-week, though. :Devil

Saw our very own Ringmod playing his FD2 through a silverface Super Reverb using a sweet Hamer Monaco Elite with WCR pickups (think I got all that right). He had the FD2 on nearly all night and it really sounded right with his playing. Made me want to try another.

excuse the pun, but there really is a certain "fullness" to the sound that other overdrives lack. i honestly don't know what it is, maybe harmonic complexity, i'm not really sure, but there is certain richness in the sound that i can't get with anything else. there are other overdrives that have certain unique sound that's kind of neat for a little while, but the FD2 wins for best all around. i played a show the other night and left it on the entire night of 4+ hrs except for one Marvin Gaye song.

I don't see what people like about this pedal. They are noisy and very underwhelming to me. I can't get a usable tone out of one.:( Sucked with my Marshall and sucked with my Orange. I love my Keeley ts9 and Tim though.:)

He was quite frank in admitting he doesn't see what the rest of us do about the pedal. Can't ask for more, really (different strokes for different folks).

Like all pedals, you need to match it up with the right guitar and amp! In my experience, the FD 2 sounds best with Fender (style) amps. I don't like the FD 2 through my Bogner, but it sounds fantastic through my Victoria.
