You can buy these direct from strymon for $399 plus shipping.
Because the world is full of suckers.
It could also be for international markets. I hear on here all the time folks not in the US saying things in their country are a lot more. It could be $480 with free international shipping is cheaper than new plus international shipping.
I think they’re just putting it up believing that they’ll sell out soon enough and then as soon as Strymon hits a brief lull in available units they’re sitting there ready to go.
I’d say it’s dumb, but I saw it work with the Flint, when strymon would periodically be between batches.
Those two dudes both just really needed $80 and stuff. It’s cool, man.
And here I am with $418 when next day shipping comes out to $428...i don't want 2 day shipping
And someone bought one lol. Wtf
Never ever is this true. Trust me, these days the price of a product needs to be easily a $100 CHEAPER (in that price range) for it to make any sense shipping a used item to Europe. If I were to buy that pedal used from the States it would have to cost $300 tops for it to make any financial sense, even with free shipping. The tax + custom fees is about 30% on top of that price.
I challenged an Ebay seller once about an item that costs $50 bucks but he was listing for $200+. He said since the item was not available overseas he had set the high price anticipating a European buyer.
What a schmuck.
They're now both gone. Wow
I think that another fact that hasn't been mentioned is import duty. I am sure Strymon won't undervalue for customs and a private seller might . Many countries have high tariffs on electronics and this is a workaround
I feel like the question has answered itself...
I think someone bought them in the ultimate troll move against this thread
I'm going to start listing all of my low production/discontinued stuff on Reverb for 10x market value just to watch the fainting couch fill up in this forum.
Ahahah already heard that... always the same cliché Stuff don’t take 3 years to arrives in EU. We also have iPhone 11, the streaming technology and Suhr guitars.
But Iridium is in stock at my Belgian dealer since 2 weeks at normal retail price 435€ (480$).
Lately, only Volante took time to arrive here in EU.
We even have free shipping and can get discounts on Strymon products
What are the seller's country of origin ?
You have to read the microscopic print to see that EJ once passed by one in the airport, and his and the other's atoms both originated from the same neutron star.
