This girl flat out rocks. I don't care that she was on Gossip Girl. She's got a pure rock voice and the band behind her kicks. Check them out, they are for real.

Probably my favorite band over the last year. Hard to believe she was only 16 or 17 when they put out their first album

Taylor Momsen is incredibly talented. Really nice in person as well.

Great band - hope they will continue to prosper. Haven't seen Halestorm yet but would like to

I know Lzzy a little. They are a local Philly band(I`m from central NJ). I used to see them open a lot of shows and play small clubs. She is one of the coolest chicks I`ve ever met.

    Cindy certainly grew up nicely.

Taylor has such a great voice for this music. Her voice sounds 30 years older than she is.

they are hard rock as much as metal, and its raw hard rock that's taken the biggest beating in public affection.

we've got a new sub-genre of ever more extreme metal every year but nothing that will expand the fan base of the hard stuff. may this stuff go there!

i love, love, love seeing strong frontwomen out there.

One of my bands covers My Medicine and Heaven Knows. I learned the songs by listening to them on youtube...enjoyed watching those videos over & over...

Posted this on another thread about Taylor/The Pretty Reckless:

For my daughter's 15th birthday, took her and some friends to see The Pretty Reckless. Got backstage passes thru my brother-in-law. He's in the biz and knows her manager. Taylor and Ben (the guitarist) were very cool and accommodating. And this was a hometown show (Filmore in Silver Spring, MD) with family and friends waiting for Taylor. Class act. And a damn fine rock and roll show, too, I might add.

Taylor has mostly dropped the short skirts, garters, high heels, sex kitten vibe which kinda sucks for the guys but is probably better in the long run.

Seems like a lot of internet buzz about Taylor lip synching in the live shows.

I read that too. Strange because she really has a great live voice. Disappointing if true.

they have some good songs that i've heard.
i was sort of blown away about 2 years ago, when a student i was working w/ (he was young college age) said he went to this festival and one of the bands he wanted to see was the pretty reckless.
so he knew who they were!!!!!

It's probably a smart move if true. She sings with a very affected voice which puts a lot of strain on vocal chords, see Mayer's recent problems as a case in point. It seems counter intuitive but the more honestly you belt it out the more longevity your singing career will have.
