To me it would seem to be a win/win if say Fender approached HD(or the other way around) about him designing a Custom Shop amp. It would obviously not be tweaked for individual use and would be a "generic Dumble" but with the highest possible quality and what HD felt would be the best "compromise." It would go for a large sum, maybe 15 grand and HD would get a big chunk of it and still be able to sit semi-retired at home. He would oversee the production of course. I would think something this logical would have already happened. How many could you sell a year? 50-100, more? It wouldn't interfere with Fender sales or HD's stable of users of his more individually tuned amps. Where is my logic askew?
