I'm gonna have to watch it again one of these days.
Troll thread? Possibly.
People relishing the opportunity to pounce on the OP for it? Check.
Many members still engaging in thoughtful discussion anyways and sharing some cool music? Awesome!
Never has been ...
There was also one about being down by the lake, (same lyrics over and over), very funny, can't find it right now
Nothing wrong with the toppings, but I'd rather have the whole thing any day.
Interesting...as your post was both insulting and trollish. You swept all the genre into a small box and only highlighted that you are either trolling or haven't really listened to much country music.
I have watched it a few times, whenever it shows up on our local PBS station. I don't get too much as far as music techniques. But .. OMG.. the history is incredible. I share this with my students whenever the opportunity comes.
new country isnt really country. its pop rock sang with a southern accent and extraneous slide guitar thrown in so you know its supopsed to be country music, not a ****** miley cyrus or whatever song.
I think that some of the, (so called,) country music would be a lot easier to take if so many of the performers quit wearing those stupid hats where the sides of the brim are folded-up like a starched taco.
If you're gonna play country, least you could do is wear a real hat;
Here's a classic that shouldn't be overlooked.
Some cerebral country music (or something), Redd Volkaert included:
Well, this stuff ain't "country music" for one thing. This is Nashville Pop.
The lyrics aren't even the worst part. The "snap" tracks; the Vocoder. Jeez.
A few notable exceptions (they know who they are) but the bulk of these "products" just lack authenticity. They're supposed to be humble, unsophisticated country kids and everyone knows they're hard bitten, highly sophisticated business oriented Urbanites or sometimes Suburbanites.
Are lies boring? Some people think so. Lack of "truthfulness" or authenticity makes me cross, mostly. People pretending to be something they're not.
I'm not saying the Olden Days were perfect. There was a lot of Schlock that was tolerated - even celebrated.
To me, Ray Stevens was probably the worst. I am so happy for Blues and Bluegrass and R + B and Rock and Roll and Gospel (and all the other "other" genres) that they never got plagued by the likes of Ray Stevens.
Yeah I was gonna say it's boring cause somebody put a cowboy hat on an 80s shredder trying to make his mortgage.
You can chase me outta town with this.
Then again I do love Western Swing.
OP is correct.
I’ve been able to successfully predict every note Bill Monroe and Tony Rice have ever played. And I’m sure they fall under the vast umbrella of ‘country’ somewhere.....thoroughly uninspiring musicians
this is what the op needs …….
this'll really tick y'all off
ps = anyone who bags tammy or dolly or miley is gonna have to step outside
Why are you so myopic?
