So there's been alot of JW hate recently (perhaps deservedly), and first off, let's keep this respectable.
Secondly, I'll sign myself up as one of those who was seriously disappointed by Blunderbuss. I love the White Stripes, but I'm starting to think JW is a man with immense artistic talent, who is resting on his laurels, and is kinda a one-trick pony. Lots of noise, check. Simple riffs, check. Blues scales and minor pentatonic, check. Digitech whammy, check.
So I was thinking, what would catapult JW to the next level? And then it came to me: Prince needs to take him under his purple wing, make him a backup guitarist, and show JW timing, flexibility, nuance, cool chords and progressions, and funk, baby, funk. Imagine JW stepping up for a solo in Crimson and Clover, then quietly stepping back and playing in the pocket. Imagine them trading lyrics. Imagine JW learning something other than 3 chord riffs. I think it would be awesome, and that a Purple, Red, and White Jack White would be the musician of our generation (if not a terribly clashing eyesore).
What do you think?
