Nadal asserting his authorty now. Up the break in the second set. I'd say it is Djokovic/Nadal at this point.

Rafa hasn’t won Wimbledon since 2010.
In the last 8 Wimbledon’s Djoker has won 4, the other half split by Murray and Fed. Djoker will win this.

Related topic - Does anyone else get a better appreciation for the pace (of shot) and spin when watching a lessor quality event? Has anyone watched the current USTA at Winnetka vs Wimbledon? I've noticed this other weeks as well, where the TV/viewing angle may be different, and I feel more realistic when watching the more localized tournaments. Thoughts?

UNbelievable match. Mirka really showed her superior athleticism in this one. All that standing. She will barely be able to yell at the nannies.

Wonderful match. The only thing I don't care for when you get this far in the tournament is that the players don't take a lot of chances. Understandably. But it gets a little "safe".

    Hats off to Federer, though.

The best angle to watch tennis - for what you are asking - is the low viewing angle behind the baseline - that you will see (rarely) in the big televised matches because you don't get the actual "gameplay" overview which is what most casual tennis fans want. It tends to be one-sided but you really get a truer sense of the pace of the ball as well as the spin and height of the kicks.

I am astonished with Federer's play today. I mean we expect great things from him, but not against Nadal and not after having Nadal come back to tie it at a set apiece.

Not really surprised at the outcome. French Open loss notwithstanding, Federer has won the last few head to head matches with Rafa on anything other than clay.

Now, the trick will be taking Rafa and Djokovic back to back. Should be interesting.

Great match. Pulling for Djokovic in the final but I'll be happy either way, been a Federer fan for years as well. Really want to see Serena win tomorrow an then retire. I know she's got a temper but I've still respected what she's done over her career. If she wins tomorrow there will be no question AT ALL who the GOAT is in women's tennis, not that there should be. A win will tie her with Margaret Court at 24 Grand Slams but of course 13 of Court's GS wins were before the Open Era.

I think Fed keeps playing because, deep down, he’s afraid Djoker will pass him, and he will pass him.

Federer has done well against Nadal since increasing his racquet head size a few years back. Looking forward to the final now.

I'm still using my circa 1987 Pro Kennex Silver Ace and 1988 or 1989 Prince Comp Spectrum 90. Haha.

Agree, although if he wasn't so stubborn and did it a few years sooner, he may have another major or two under his belt.

LOL, Kennex! That's a blast from the past. I once had one too ... once. The Epiphone or Squire of tennis racquets!
