I’m not a huge tennis fan, but it’s too bad that had to come down to a tiebreak. Great match regardless.

Gotta be frustrating for Federer. Almost 38, and he outplays Djokovic for the majority of the match.

He just lost focus in a few key moments.

Great match. Was pulling for Roger, but like Novak as well.

On a separate note, I was completely enthralled by the beautiful blonde lineswoman.
Reminded me of the Seinfeld episode. I wonder if she reads lips.

What do you think someone like Federer does with his runner up trophies? :p

I’m just amazed that at his age, Roger can win a tough match against Nadal, one of the best players in history, then in the very next match come so close to winning a 5+ hour final against ANOTHER of the best players in history.

And then, be so composed and gracious in his interview immediately after the match.

Congrats to Novak. Roger has to really be stinging from the lost opportunities in that fifth set. Great match!

Who does Roger have to be more worried about, in terms of catching him for most majors--Rafa, or Novak?

I'm watching replay of Finals match right now as I had to leave ( in US) after 2nd set this AM to do a gig.
These guys are in a ' civil or refined battle' - both are quiet and really playing their asses off ( it's 10-9 in the 5th set)
I know how it ends but " Go Roger!!"
    anyway...

    These guys are BEST !

I think both will do it, but at this point I somehow don't really care (I'm a huge Fed fan). All three are so great, so unique, and have brought so much to tennis that I just marvel at them as a group.

Are there any of the younger ones who can catch up with the big three over time? Like Zverev or Thiem, for instance? If only Kyrgios would pull himself together ...

Damn it! I had to haul furniture yesterday and could not watch the men’s final. Sounds like I missed a classic!

Great match, albeit a bit flat in spots.

I was pulling for Federer (of course!), but the reality is that Novak beat him with his B game. Hard to imagine Djokovic not getting to 20 grand slams if he stays healthy.
