My friend bought a Lotus tele, and he's trying to put a Twisted Tele neck pickup in it. How do we wire this in?

The old one has two thin black wires that wind together, and go to the switch, along with the white wire.

The Twisted Tele has black, yellow and green wires.

    Any help is appreciated.

Hard to tell on my phone but it looks like the green wire is the ground for the cover, yellow is hot to the switch and the black is a ground.

    From the TDPRI thread:

"In your case the black AND green would go to ground and the yellow to the switch naturally where the white Nocaster wire was."

So the ground connection is on the metal plate of the switch, where the black currently is currently wired to.

Sometimes fender pickups are reverse phase relative to many makers. if so-the green still goes to ground, but the black becomes hot and yellow is ground.

Call Fender...they usually answer their phones and can tell you exactly what is what...

I recently threw one of these in my Tele. The yellow is the hot and the black and green are both ground. You can wire them to the same place.

I didn't care for it and ended up yanking it back out. Some folks seem to love em. To each their own.

    Good luck!

I've had a many of those moments too. After 35 years I have found the Twisted Tele and the Mare S Tele to be my fav current production Tele neck pickups.
Funny how some luv something and some don't. That's what makes the gear world go round.

OP, yes, Yellow is he hot.
