Wiring Help!

I have a vox virage I would like to mod the wiring on. Very simple mod, I just want to tie the tone control to the bridge pickup ONLY instead of the bridge and neck pickups.

Anybody in the DFW area who wants to help me with this (for cash), or can recommend a guy to do a simple wiring job?

Also, if I take the tone control out of the circuit for the neck pickup, is it going to give me the sound of the tone control on 10, or is it going to be an even brighter sound?

The neck pickup will be slightly brighter and slightly louder without the tone control in its circuit. But that's only when the neck pickup is on alone. When both pickups are on together, the tone control will work as before.

cool, thanks guys - gunslinger, by saying the tone control works as before, do you mean that in the middle position that turning the tone control down will actually affect the neck pickup "half" of the tone, or do you mean that the neck "half" will just sound as if the tone control is on 10?

There's no "half". When the selector connects the two pickups together they create one signal that's the sum of their outputs. Once they're connected together, anything you do to one will affect the other. That's why on a 4-knob Gibson, turning either pickup's volume down all the way shuts them both off when the switch is in the middle. (and note the switch comes after the volume and tone controls - it doesn't matter)

Like Jef said, when the pickup selector is in the middle position the two pickups and whatever else is connected to them are part of the same circuit. So the tone control will effect both pickups when they're both on together.
