With all the negative things I hear about Gibson, here is something positive

I hear many bad things about Gibson lately, and I am not here to comment on that stuff. However, I just wanted to mention some positive feedback about their customer service.

I purchased a USA Standard Slash model on April 1 and my local dealer said that they did not come with a certificate of authenticity. After reading a bit more online, I found out that they did come with COA's. I called the dealer who I bought the guitar from and they had no idea about this. I checked with Gibson USA and they responded immediately with contact information for the distributor here in Canada. I checked with them and by the next day they had already called my dealer with all of my info and sent the COA out to them with instructions to call me as soon as they get it.

I think that is excellent customer service...something sorely lacking in most places today. That's my story. Kudos to Gibson on this one.

By the way, the Slash LP ROCKS too, so good for Gibson on that too.

I've had great customer service from Gibson with several different small issues. Specifically with Roger at Customer Support.

I live in Calgary, so I got it at Guitarworks. I did not even think about buying the guitar that morning, but when they said they were only getting 4 in, I figured I may as well check it out. When I realized it was pretty much the same price as a new LP Standard (give or take) I figured why not go for it...seems collectible enough and I LOVE the neck on this thing. Really cool guitar.

I bought my LP custom at GC April of 05 and there was no COA. My salesman was real friendly when I was buying (of course) but when i called leter on that day to ask about the COA, all I got was I willget back to you and I am still waiting for that call. But Gibsons customer service had the COA in my hand in 48 hours to my house.

I heard that Gibson COA's make for a great TP. Try to use the CEO signature for first contact.........[IMG]

Why does somebody on here always have to say something negative?

Well congrats on the axe. The finish on that LP looks really nice and between the tonepros and pickups you're pretty much all set.

I went on the Gibson factory tour when I was in Memphis. Everyone there was exceptionally friendly. Now, I have to LP Historics. They are great guitars. They are a business, trying to stay in business. However, I've never had any problems.

I've come to the conclusion that people on the internet slag Gibson because it's become the new "in" thing. The Gibsons on the wall at GC are a pretty bad impression of a well setup Gibson. I've played my share of dogs as well, but I've also played some current Gibsons that were touched by the hand of God and sang like angels. I'm lucky enough to own a pair of them. ;)

It's like how some folks think they are supposed to hate Microsoft and Bill Gates, or anything/one else that's successful.
