wolfetone mean and meaner set vs hamer stock p90

    how do they compare? noisier about the same... get dirtier? need more gain to push .. ect.. thanks...

    Bout the same as far as Noise., P90's are like that.

    Get dirtier, more push..sweeter break up, AND clean up better with the volume controls.
    IMO.

    Wolfe does a great P90

    I've got WCR G90s in my Hamer special korina... I think they're actually modeled after his Goodwood 'buckers- not sure how authentic to vintage P90 tone they are, I would guess not too much, but they are hi-fi but warm, piano-like but can grind, and quiet.
    I found the original SD's to be a bit cold (bright) and too hot (loud) overall. these WCRs have rendered the Hamer my number one, really the only guitar I play these days.
    Sorry I do not have experience with the Wolfetones but I've heard nothing but high praise.
