    cheers. :)

Someone asked me about the size of the pedal. The Chaos is a bit of a tall-boy. Here's a pic showing it's relative size:

Has anyone tried the Helium? I'm thinking of completing the set/wolf-head.:crazy

I wasn't impressed at all. All combinations sound pretty much the same.

See, now I really miss mine...had to sell it last month.

GREAT demonstration of what it can do.

The character of this pedal really rewards an active imagination.

If you ever get to Dave's Guitar Shop in LaCrosse, WI (well worth the trip for the museum of 400 or so vintage guitars upstairs, that you can PLAY!!!), the designer of the pedal works there. Get him to demo the different modes for you, it's really an eye opener. Not a pedal I'd ever play live, but for studio mayhem-priceless!

That's my attitude about it as well. It and the Fuzz Factory are both great for what the Mixerman Diaries described as "science projects".

I have both. I actually like the Helium better than the Chaos. One thing about the Helium that sometimes I hate and sometimes I like, it's too well behaved for an octave fuzz. I also have a Tycobrahe Octavia and they really aren't even close, even though they share the same basic components. The Helium doesn't do the over the top, forward-feedback thing that the Octavia & Roger Mayer pedals do so well. The Helium is infinitely more useful as a result though.

Glad to hear that people are digging the pedals. I'll pass the info on to Mr. Wolftone. Wait'll you hear what he's cooking up these days.

I may have noticed one or two postive comments from you....;) I'll see if I can get some sound clips out of him (we're having computer issues, but I'll see what I can do) or at least some info as to what the pedals do.

I was at Dave's last Friday and Todd let me try out a couple of the new creations. They were outrageous. I sat back there for a half hour just lost in the peds.

Then he said he had to go buy your Christmas present, so I hope you liked whatever it was!

I must've missed this thread the first go-round, but glad it popped back up. Been eyeing up the Chaos & Helium lately as they definitely have such a unique vibe to 'em. The sound samples on their website for the Chaos are a bit lower gain than Fatback's though, but it definitely has some serious range to it. The lower gain ones have this unreal percussive, hectic, intense feel to 'em that is like a powder keg ready to explode. And the synthy sounds the Helium can produce really intrigue me a lot. Both of 'em are way up at the top of my GAS list now.

I have the other two Modmax pedals on my list. I'll be looking out for the new pedals as well. I hope they have lots of knobs to turn.;)

I'm glad you found this old thread. The Chaos continues to amaze and or freak-out me, my drummer, and my neighbors. ;)

I'm eagerly awaiting the bean-spill on the new pedals.
