I have just been briefed to send my crew home at 1300 and don't report in tomorrow. All with pay:love:. Anyone else being/been sent home?

The schools are closed today and tomorrow also because we're expecting ice and snow, tonight and tomorrow. I sometimes laugh to myself the way weather is dealt with down south after living up north:huh. I guess you don't want people that aren't use to or never have driven on ice driving though:hide? We're used to getting a cold month or two down here but not this.

Hurricanes and afternoon monsoons are our thing.

I think i'll crank up the heat and the Mark V.

More likely is that the state and/or its counties aren't equipped for quick, thorough and safe removal of snow and ice which would put drivers (experienced or not) at risk. Sounds like a reasonable and realistic precaution.

hell ya enjoy the time off.
my work involves snow removal so I won't be as lucky. The paid time between snow is nice though.

I'm already working from home so if my office got closed I'm not sure where I would go.

The church I work at closes when the schools do, like today.

But I can work from home, and do.

local weathermen are predicting a heat wave in my area this weekend. Temps may reach above freezing :D
I just want it to warm up enough to wash the caked up salt off my car.

I am still working hard all day (central FL here) but this weather is wreaking HAVOC in my industry (trucking). We've got road closures, shipper/receiver closures, etc. It's a MESS...

Old Man Winter can GTFO out of St. Louis as far as I'm concerned... we've already exhausted all our snow days here w/ the school district and had to close our office more than a few times.

    Springtime, please?!? :bonk

Unfortunately, I telecommute, so no excuse to play in the snow unless I lose phone lines and internet access! I am in South Carollina...

This is a total replay of last week - leave at 1:00 today; likely closed tomorrow; come in late on Thursday - all with full pay! :dude

The private sector does. Government workers, including the largest U.S. Air Force Base, either start the day late or stay home altogether.

There is snow in Atlanta and everyone is freaking out, as usual. Everybody left work at the same time and now there is gridlock all over the city, as well as numerous wrecks.
