My area is supposed to get 2-4", but who knows.

I'm a CO boy, and when we moved to Portland, it snowed about 2". My kids are out at the bus stop, and some kids walk by and tell them no school today. They come back in, and I start laughing at these poor boobs who can't handle 2". Then we had a true ice storm, where my wife and I had to cling to each other to just get across the street over 3/8" of ice. OK, I'm used to a lot of snow with very little moisture. Snow here has a lot of moisture, and any low temp is a lot different than CO. Add hills with buses, and suddenly it makes more sense.

8-12 inches expected tomorrow in CT. I just spent a while cleaning out the carb on my snowblower and replacing the shear pins. I'm as ready as I can be!

Hoping we get the day off tomorrow. I just moved and could use the extra time to fix stuff and organize the house.

I WISH I had the day off tomorrow. I just got a new guitar today that I’d love to spend all day playing.

I remember having that reaction until I realized my then school would make up any snow days on Saturdays.

They shut us down today too. 6" in some areas. Wind chills in the teens?! Knocked a few trees over behind our property. The ominous music in the clip I posted sums up the mood around here for this "historic event" (news man's words). It's the end of the world!!!

I hope to hell this means we're going to have a little milder summer.

Broken water mains around my building this morning. I was forced to park 5 blocks away which will cost me an extra hour or so today. What a mess.

Yeah, I saw a ton of footage like that yesterday from friends posting videos of their streets & yards on FB - yesterday was kinda ridiculous...

The footage of knee deep, waves of ice chunks flowing down the streets gave me hypothermia just watching it.

I don’t recall any of that kind of crapola. Maybe we didn’t get enough of them.

Or maybe I just grew up in a kinder gentler time. Things were better before.
