I've had the Fulltone Soulbender on my board beside the 69 at times. This tonebender style fuzz sounds great with Strats and Les Pauls. You might also consider an octave fuzz or Big Muff fuzz.

thanks. I was torn between the '69 and Soulbender when I bought the '69.

I forgot to add that my guitar is single coils into a 20 watt EL-84 amp.

And they look great together side by side. If you're up for silicon, go for the 70 Pedal as well. Red white and blue.

Maybe get one of the members to build you a decent MKI?

Keeping with the Fulltone thing... I completely dig my Catalyst.

I think the 70's pedal would go well with your setup. A good muff would be my other suggestion.

Octafuzz is a good match with my '69, great boost on the Octafuzz plus the benefit of octave!!

I would also recommend the Fulltone 70 and Octafuzz (newer version)

Were all the Fulltone 69's based on two NKT 275 germanium transistors?

Is the Fulltone '70 also a tonebender variant? I thought it wasn't, so it was not something I was considering. While I'm sure it's a great pedal in its own right, I'm leaning towards a tonebender mkii sound.

    +1

I have a Soul Bender after my 69 and it is amazing. I found the 70 with the 69 somewhat redundant but the Soul Bender rocks.

My 69 is set up more like an OD and the Soul Bender is the only pedal to kick my RAT off my board.
