I stumbled on a PRS McCarty Korina. I tried it out through a PRRI & some large Blackstar head. To me it sounded fantastic - possibly the best tone I've heard out of a guitar (to my ear & playing style).:omg My fiance thought it sounded so good her question was "you're going to buy it right"?:huh

Buying it means selling off a Tom Anderson hollow T (not getting much use) and one of my Heritage guitars (150 or 535). All of those 3 are very good guitars. I was completely happy with them until Saturday. Any opinions before I do something crazy?:bonk

If you are not playing the other guitars and this one floats your boat, why not..

If you like it better than the ones you're giving up, why wouldn't you go for it. Great guitars don't come around all that often. When you get a chance to get rid of something you don't use to get something you really like, what's to think about.

I'm playing the H150 pretty much for every gig. I always try to justify why I need certain guitars but then end up playing the 1 favorite of the group.

All I know is this one is an '08.

If you think you would prefer a Santana shape as opposed to the McCarty, shoot me a note.

I wouldn't do it. I think in the long run, you would regret getting rid of two guitars in order to acquire one. I am speaking from experience.

Or, find a way to put the PRS on layaway and keep the others as well.

...just my opinion - hope it helps.

Yea, I've done that in the past.

Ugh, I've also sold stuff in the past I wish I would have kept.

Personally, if I had an Anderson Hollow T and a Heritage 150, I'd have a hard time parting with them. But that's just sentimental old me.
There is a PRS I'd love to have, but I could never sell my Les Paul to get it.

On the other hand, if you've found your grail, then that's it.

It's a beauty, but always regretted selling something to get another axe. I have many of all major makes but I've been coveting getting another PRS the SC58

If that isn't a green light from the better half, then I don't know what is...

See if there's a way to make it a "wedding present".;)

    Later...

Note to self: Never buy a guitar from stingrey1978 in the Emporium.

Now where were we? Oh yes, the OP and his "To PRS, or Not To PRS" question. My vote is

    BUY IT!

Only after you have it home, play it for a while through your own rig and get familiar with it, will you know for certain if it is truly a keeper and if something else that you don't enjoy as much can then be sold.
