1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

Got my eBay Germino Classic 45 delivered today and I'm cutting up the bubble wrap the KT66's are in and they don't look all that big and then dear mother, are those things ever mothers. I've seen pics but pics don't tell you just how BIG and F A T those things are. No wonder there are all those posts about the tubes not fitting.

They are very cool to look at. :)

And the amp sounds great. Compared to my 50 watt plexi, it seems more Fender like in terms of dynamics. Probably that's the tube rectifier as part of it. It's not as stiff as the plexi. And not as loud.

    Nice !

I have a TopHat Emplexador 50 that came from the factory with KT-66s
and they are a very cool tonal twist vs. EL34s.
Fatter bass and low-mids, for sure.

45s are my favorite marshalls by far.

Ok, I've got a Germino club 40, what brand of KT66 would you recommend?

I've got a Soultone 45 that I can swap in most octal tubes. When I showed my wife the KT66 and the EL34s, she said I should put in the EL34s. I wonder why. :messedup
