Looking for a super Strat in 24.75" scale, and this Hamer caught my eye. Has to be this color.
Man....good luck. These are hard to come by in ANY color. They were GREAT guitars.
I have a Chapparal Custom, it's the wrong scale length and color for you though. Good luck with your search.
Hamer USA originals are worth finding.
There is a local guy with one for sale but it's sort of a grey color. I might test drive it though. A yellow one was available about a year ago in these parts and I'm such a fool for not getting it.
Thanks but I'm really looking for the short scale. I've got a couple of Charvels in the 25.5" scale.
Yes, was just wishing you well with your search. I am not really looking to sell mine.
Np. Will be probably a tough find. The other one I want from the era is the Jem 10th anniversary.
Have you tried posting here: http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/
Just have this one (I’ve owned several)-great guitars. This was made for and owned by Fernando Von Arb of Krokus.
Cool. I have a fellow locally with a very similar guitar he is willing to part with. I think his is not the custom though as it has dot inlay and is in 24.75" scale, although it is the same color.
I remember Krokus vaguely as I recall they did a cover of "Bar Room Blitz" that I had on cassette from a buddy. Fernando Von Arb is a pretty good name.
Is yours for sale?
I did but I'm still on the wait list for approval to post there.
I'm always open to offers. I've had this one longer than just about any guitar I've owned. This guitar is also featured in the Hamer book.
Ok. Well not entirely sure what this guitar may be worth. Looks to be on great shape. The fact the Fernando Von Arb owned it doesn't exactly does up the value much to me though. Now is this a short scale guitar?
Yes-the 85/86 models with the three mini switches will be shorter scale. In late 86/early 87 when the bolt-on Chaps were introduced, they moved to 25.5” scale. An easy way to tell at a glance from photos is the three-way mini switch selectors for Gibson scale and blade switch on the later Fender-scale instruments.
Nice. Thanks for the tip. I guess I would be interested.
Target acquired. Plays very nicely, quite impressed.
Glad you found one. Post some pics when you get a chance.
NGD post up and running.
Again, if anyone has Hamer Chaparrals for sale please message me. Could be any color now that I've got the yellow one.
