Having a gas attack for a hollowbody, and funds are tight :facepalm

Did some looking around and found these 2 and hoping that someone can tell me if there okay or junk

    1) XV 950 with Retrotrons from GFS

    2) Douglas WNO 640 SB from Rondo Music

I play western swing and classic country, so looking for something kinda mellow, maybe with alittle twang

Thanks in advance for your advice and opinions !

Of these 2 options I'd go with the GFS.

Even if the fit and finish was close to the same, the retrotrons are some good pickups for what you play.

The Douglas seems like it would be darker sounding.

Howdy Rey ! Glad to see another south Texan !

Thanks for the advice and opinion guys ! I understand that you get what you pay for, but with the budget and state of the economy.... I really have to watch the $$$ for awhile.

I am leaning towards the GFS guitar, from what I have read, the pickups will work for the style of music I play. Plus I can always upgrade later if needed.

    Thanks again
    Bill

Did you get the Xaviere? I was looking at the same guitar and wondering if it would be a good stand-in for a Gretsch 5120.
