They were released at the beginning of the year (2015) and are the newer version (2.0) and come with the voltage doubler. The 3db boost can be defeated with the internal switch.

Wow, that recently! Shows how much I know, I thought they may have been realeased back when the pedal was first made. Thank you for answering my question, that's great news!

I tried one the other day for the first time and the difference is absolutely night and day. What an amazing little pedal! Little pedal, big tone!

    Thanks again

Oh FFOGG shame on you for bringing a relevant thread back to life. Get ready for the hate!

The EP Booster is very cool. Love it with my Tele.

How well does the EP booster work as a lead boost kinda like how you would use a TS or Klon?

Its great lead boost as long as your amp can handle the added bottom end fatness.

I’ve been consistently rotating eight to ten pedals for a few years and that’s the only one I always keep. It’s been through six guitars and four amps and is always very useful.

I just heard about this pedal today on, of all places, a jazz forum. I searched and found this old thread that's already been resurrected. This pedal sound too good to be true with all the rave reviews.

Supposedly this pedal works great with the new Fender Tone Master amps. I'm an old school, tube amp only kinda guy so far, but I'm tempted.

Love my EP Boost... works well into both clean & dirty amps, and stacks extremely well with nearly every dirt pedal I’ve tried it with

Also magical as an “always on” pedal to fatten up a Strat or Tele, if you’re switching off between them and a humbucker guitar

Always on for me and running at 18V.

Years ago I read a few comments saying it was "muddy" compared to the ClinchFX EP-Pre (which has a charge pump to internally boost the voltage to 17V and 22V from 9V and 12V respectively). I wonder how many tried the Xotic at 18V? Sounds a lot clearer and more articulate to me.
