I almost didn't post this because I just finished listening to all the other great takes in Marin's original thread. My goodness...there's some serious talent on this forum!

Anyway, Artcore AS83 into ODS clone, Arion digital delay added in the loop. http://thenormster.com/music/Driving.mp3

I don't know why, but I couldn't shake the image of a desperado high-tailin' it for the Mexican border. LOL

Very nice take, man! I really dig the backing track, and your solo fit the mood very well.

Thanks so much for listening and taking the time to comment. Much appreciated!!! :)

I just tried another take using the mid pickup position and a bit more treble. Going for that Marin tone. ;)

The playing is a little more fluid on this take as well.

    My dear Normster,

Seldom do I hear people playing with the BT as well as you did on this one.
And with a mediterrenean flavour no less. Not only going for the Marin tone but also for Marin geography. :D

Another point worthy of comment is the playing dynamics. Very nice indeed!

    Cheers,

    Mats N

    Very cool Normster !

Also very airy, wich is good on this type of BT.
Lots of healthy space, between the licks.

    Me like !

Hey Normster. Just curious but why did you start a new thread on this backing track? Was my playing on the clip I posted on the original thread so bad that it killed the thread?!?! LOL :D

Very sweet playing on both tracks by the way.

Thanks again guys. You just made my day. :)

Mats, thanks for the generous comment. I played this backing on repeat for a long time before I finally got an idea for the solo. Your music has always inspired me to be more melodic...looks like it's working. ;)

Lasse, glad you enjoyed it! I really dug this backing and didn't want to add any more to it than I had to. Marin had so much badass stuff going on in the backing that would have been wrong to cover it up with too many notes. LOL

Bailnout, it was just a shameless self-promotion. :) Actually, that thread was getting pretty long. I didn't know if I should add to it or not. ???

Thanks Norm. I'll take that as a "yea, your wanking was pretty bad, dude."

Go on... you can say it! :D
