    Could NOT decide!

I think it really comes down to what you are going to use it for. If it's a straight Led Zep, ZZ Top, etc thing then the LP is the choice. If you are looking for a super versatile instrument that is woody and can almost sound acoustic, the 335 might be better.

335, for a few reasons. Not knocking LPs, but for me it's an easy call.

That's easy - I'd play both and the one the felt right I would keep.
Going in blind I would be partial to the LP, but as many have said finding a keeper is a bit hit or miss

    335 for me.
I get my rock, jazz, country and blues tone from my Gibson.
Too many of my guitar idols play a 335.

This totally depends on genre. Hard rockers should go LP, indie rockers 335... 335 for me if I had to choose. Lighter too.

    335.
After 15 years playing, I'm liking LPs less and less.
I'd love to own a special with 2 humbuckers but the standard design does nothing for me at the moment.

Considering this thread fits me perfect, the 335 as it's the only electric guitar I own at the moment. I sold the others because I needed money at the time. My next guitar will probably be another LP, but the 335 wins out because I love the body and the number of sounds you can dial in.

Les Paul for me. BTW I love my 335 but the LP has the sound I go to.

I have no 335 ... but if I was to only have one guitar, then it would be the 335 :)

    335. Maybe because I like BB King-like blues tone, which the 335 is in the right family for (I also have a B.B. King Lucille and a recently acquired 345). But I also like Les Pauls if they aren't too heavy.

I own both already. I would go with the 335, because it will be harder to choose just one. LP's are everywhere and pretty consistent in tone, so you could get one anytime. I think a good 335 may be harder to find.

Shouldn't this thread have a poll?

I've never owned a LP, so I guess by default I'd vote for the 335. But I pick up my strat or tele 9/10 over my 335 on any given day, I miss the snappiness of attack when I play the 335, especially on the wound strings. Don't care for humbuckers that much either.

Tough, but I'd go with the 335. It plays easier and sounds closer to the sound I have in my head.
