My wife is the first person I check with when I'm dialling in new gear. She's got a great ear but doesn't get caught up in the hype as it means nothing to her!

Explain to her the tonal differences between EL-34's and 6L6's and how 100 watts make Plexis sound more open while 50 has more of a warm, early breakup. Then get into Greenback vs. Creamback speakers and the difference between 4x12 and 2x12.

That's one way not to get a second date.
