...the soundman is younger than the band :).

Or when you're playing with a band and you overhear someone ask one of the other band members, "Who's the old guy?"

Yeah, that happened to me. 7 years ago. So...um...old.

...you'd rather stay home and watch "60 Minutes" than drag the gear out of the basement.

:rotflmao

I remember playing in some punk dive bar doing the crappy originals that the stupid bass player wrote, and being on stage thinking "I could be home in my rec room, watching TV with a drink and a joint!"

When someone says in a post how one of their biggest influences is when they were 5 years old they listened to their Dad's copy of the Metallica's black album over and over. :messedup

When you can remember when "Do you listen to Pink Floyd?" was code for "Do you get high?'".

When you can't tell whether the drum overheads are in mono or panned hard left and right. (A guy I had over the other day.)

Your Les Paul is too heavy to gig with anymore.

I remember doing 3 sets with it when I was younger.

I had to give it up when I couldn't make it through an hour rehearsal.

To be fair (to it and me), it was a 10 pounder.

Switch to playing a hollowbody to hide your belly and make you look smaller. I got a Casino for this very reason.

That's what the tele is for! When the Paul gets too heavy, swap it out for a tele for a while.

We usually play a couple 14-15 song sets (28-30 songs total), so I usually swap my LP out for my tele somewhere around song #6 and then swap back around song #11 for the end of the set. Repeat for 2nd set.

My Les Paul's almost 11lbs. But the tone is massive. And my back always hates me for 3 or 4 days afterward. But the tone is massive.

When you leave a concert because the crowd is too crazy.

Granted, I kept getting knocked down and the people in the balcony thought it was awesome to spew beer down on the people below so I was also covered in spit beer.

Not a fun night.
