Damn that was quite a deal! I guess I picked a bad time to take a nap...id of snagged that in a second..I bet it costs more to build the thing than that..hopefully a GP guy got it at least.

That doesn't really make sense does it? What do you think was wrong with it? Those deals used to be on the internet ALL THE TIME in the old days but in about 8 years , nothing like that to be found I used to buy and sell all the time, and now it's not worth it as all the prices are 'market rate' .. Used to be deals galore... hmmmm

I think every now and then you can get lucky on the rogue item..the guy had 100% feedback and the buyer left good feedback..maybe he just wasnt in touch with what kinda price it was really worth.. I got a deal on my original WH1 pedal like that. Ok..maybe not THAT good..but around 1/2 of the going price really.

I could see it if it was just the one amp, but multiple amps going for ridiculous prices?

Makes one wonder if they're hot or something.

I don't know.. I've seen RIsson's for that price on ebay many times, and the Tophat was FULL used price.. It was only the ROccaforte that was WAY out of line, i.e. less than 1/2 of normal , so I'd have to think something was wrong with it, or he just didn't know the price.. But that's weird because there's always Roccaforte's on ebay every week, and it's ez to see what people ask for them.... that was a prize for someone I"m sure! ERIC

Except he offerred 30% off if the same buyer purchased all 3 and that is what happened. Great deal on all 3.

The seller also offered an additional 30% off if one person hit BIN on all three! WTF!!!

I contacted the buyer a couple of days ago to try and buy the Roccaforte. He said that his buddy might buy it, but if that deal doesn't go through the amp would be available for $2000 shipped.

I just re-read the listing, and the ad states that the amp is, "Mint condition with less than 8 hours of low-stress 'milage'. New price was $2600." So the seller had to have some idea of value.

I was about over my sadness on missing out on the Rocca and Carl had to start this thread. ;) I just keep telling myself that if it is too good to be true...well you know the rest.

If he knew the value and had gearitis interest at 2K then something is definitely not right. It must have been dumped for a reason...

Maybe the guy needed a quick $675.00 and figured that the Rocca would guarantee getting that $675.00...

There's no way that sold for 675, had to be a mistake
on the price. I doubt the winner is going to get it.

Huh, the Risson is a tough sell? Really? Well, I bought one a few months back for pretty cheap, under $600, including a new set of tubes, service, and Bob Rissi offered to upgrade me to some old Mullard EL34's if I want for it and some Mullard or Telefunken preamp tubes, too. l would go with all of those upgrades, but the one I have just needed a new phase inverter tube to get rid of the "swhoosh" sound, and it kicks pretty serious booty now.
