    Your choices do not include anyone out of the Fab Four, so no George Martin or Billy Preston.

    Let's see whom you picked... and why. ;)

    George is my favourite, love his solo material also. Especially love All Things Must Pass more than a lot of Beatles material.

    Lennon, despite his personality. I just prefer his contributions to the rest (but not by much).

    Same for me. So hard to pick just one; they were all such essential pieces to the greatest band of all time, but George is my favorite. He was so cool and laid back, and I love his solos and especially his slide work post-Beatles.

    I don,t think they can honestly be seperated out like this. Together they were more than the sum of theeir parts. But, I will go with Ringo, he was the backbone and glue that allowed the others to shine.

    Mine's changed over the years. Used to kinda go between John/Paul usually leaning towards John. I've been pretty solidly on George now for a long time.

    Paul - engaging, entertaining, fairly skilled on a multitude of instruments. The sum of the Beatles is greater than the individuals, most would agree.

    Paul is an musical genius with one of the best voices ever but John was the drive, soul and visionary power behind the band until he got tired of it all.

    For me, it's almost a tossup between George and Paul.

    George, because I like the work he did with the Beatles.
    Paul, fellow lefty, plus an excellent bassist.

    If I considered only their time with the Beatles, I would pick George
    If you count their solo time, I would pick Paul. (I liked George's work with them more than what he did solo).

    Since the poll is for favorite "Beatle" (and thus implying only their time together), I pick George.

    Paul for me, always has been even as a kid!

    Beatles in order for me:
    Paul
    George
    Ringo
    John ( was never a Lennon fan as a solo artist and least fav of the fab four)

    I always feel like it should be John, but I've gotta be honest with myself - it's Paul.

    Feel like those who pick George have gone full hipster, he's the cool pick these days, but to put him over two of the greatest song writers ever is a bit whacky. Only under the tutelage of Paul and John did George become a decent song writer/guitar player. 1. Paul 1a. John 3. George 4. Ringo

    I picked George. I didn't pick him because I thought he was the best songwriter or the most talented. I picked him because he was a great songwriter and a great guitarist and more important to me, he seemed to have his head screwed on straighter than Paul or George. If I had a second pick it would have gone to Ringo who seems like he knows how to have fun and enjoy life at a level I aspire to.

    George.

    Paul = egomaniac
    John = druggie
    Ringo = not that talented

    IMHO of course, if we are to take them as individuals and not as a group.

    John for me . . .

    John was the most creative in my eyes and Paul was his perfect alter ego.

    Not to mention John was my childhood idol in '64 after seeing them on the Ed Sullivan Show and my mother bought me a new Kingston solid body guitar with a small tube combo for Christmas that year that I picked out of the Sears catalog. I had the greatest mom, miss you.

    John got my vote.
    Whatever he did, he stuck to his beliefs, even if/when they did not conform to what others thought he should do. Wrote some incredible stuff with the Beatles, as well.

    Paul.
    Acts like a plastic Scouser, still now. Insincere, false. Wrote too many slushy songs with the Beatles.

    George.
    Not the great guitarist that people think he was. Basically a C&W guitarist (with a bit of rock 'n roll) who got away with being so in the Beatles. Not mentioned at the time (obviously), but when you find out that the lead guitar on 'Taxman' was by Paul, and then go back and listen to a shoal of other tracks, conclusion is that Paul was a better lead guitarist than George...

    Ringo.
    He's the drummer. Inhabits a parallel universe like all drummers...

    I actually really like his personality. Except maybe when he was a mean drunk (from what I've heard of the "Lost Weekend" era). He could be funny, intellectual, sarcastic, brilliant etc.

    Being there at the time, although very young, and all through the years I've been listening I always gravitate toward and enjoy John and George's material more than Paul's. Ringo is great, my favorite living Beatle, but not much of a songwriter.
