    My entry a 2nd time around- SRV’s rendition of Jimi’s “Little Wing”. Yes, there are other renditions like Sting’s and Clapton’s rendition. I know one is instrumental and the original is not. But, we can’t forget the instrumental covers out there because there are some masterpiece out there..........

    I love both versions,back in 87-88,i used to just listen to the first 10 seconds of Metallicas version over and over,one of the greatest metal tones ever.
    edit-i just listened to it again and it still rules

    I always liked Iron Maiden’s version, but Cradle of Filth’s just blows it away. After I hear this the original was ruined.
