I have a MIM standard Strat, two Am Special Teles, two Ibanez JS100s. All are killer.

2016 Charvel San Dimas ($849) - with the coil tap, easily the most versatile guitar I own. As well as the Gibson LP in my profile pic that I got on open box for $719.

Fender Highway One Strat. It's still my grab and go guitar.

If buying used, I would look at ESP EII's, if buying new I would go Ibanez all out; maybe with a glance at PRS SE's. Bear in mind that I'm talking about lefty guitars here.

I came here to mention these. $800 new, $500-600 used and you get really great features: vintage styling with Gotoh locking tuners, a 2 point trem, 57/62 pickups(!), and a 9.5" radius but otherwise vintage style neck. The '50s model even gets a Clapton-esque fat, rounded soft V neck. Plus, the Classic series are made from nicer (fewer pieces, lighter weight) blanks.

MIM classic series. I prefer them to avri with a few upgrades. It's pretty much all i use 95% of the time and has been since they debuted in about 99'. I like a lot of other stuff like PRS SE's and eastman and such, but being a die hard vintage style fender man nothing else comes close for me. I especially like the early ones. Theres nothing i would improve about them aside from the pickups and some hardware i replace which still leaves the price at dirt cheap.

I really miss the 2nd generation HWY Strats and the HWY 1 Texas Telecaster. Best guitars for the money Fender has ever made.

But I'll answer this with current production guitars.

    Fender American Special
    Gibson Faded
    Gretsch Electromatics

I agree on the Godins. I also like The entire Guild line. Same with Gretsch and Epiphone. Lots of very good mid price stuff.

Which SE model is this?! I'd love to get a maple-necked SE.
