I came here to post that I got a copy of the album with tickets to see them and I really enjoy it. I've listened to the whole thing quite a bit. That and Tool's Fear Inoculum and Slipknot's We Are Not Your Kind are seeing a lot of play. I also have been listening to this one a lot after seeing them play it cover to cover a few months ago.

I'm on a 9 month long Son Volt binge it seems. That, and Alejandro Escovedo mixed in.

I listen to a lot of different genres and artists, but those two are the bulk of my listening tone right now.

2019 was allllllllll about the Rival Sons album, Feral Roots. Immediately made it on my top five desert island albums and in my opinion the best album of the year. Have not stopped since the day it came out!

Spotify tells me that in 2019 I listened to the following albums rather a lot:

    • Trond Kallevag Hansen - Bedehius & Hawaii
    • Marco Pereira - O Samba da Minha
    • Hvalfugl - Fremmed Land
    • Quarteto Maogani - Impressoes de Choro
    • Renaud Garcia-Fons - Farangi
    • The AKA Trio - Joy
    • Rhythm Future Quartet - Travels
    • Les Doigts de l'Homme - 1910 (and other albums too)
    • Petros Klampanis - Irrationalities
    • Hejira - Thread of Gold
    • Catrin Finch & Seckou Keita - Soar
    • Gabriele Mirabassi - Amori Sospesi
    • Penguin Cafe - Handfuls of Night
    • Jon Larsen and Pascal Loutchek - Russian Guitars
If nothing else, I had my ears open last year!

Hm, hard to know. I can get my most played songs with last played >= 1/1/19, but looking at the iTunes filter most of those plays were prior to 2019...

Anecdotally, I listened to a lot of Eric Gales' "The Bookends" as well, great album. Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real's "Turn off the News (Build a Garden)" is one of my favorite albums of 2019 I listened to that a lot. I still listen to songs from Metallica's "Hardwired" pretty often while working out but definitely not the whole record. My son really enjoyed going to see the Rush R40 show a the movie theatre with me, and it got me listening to Rush's "Moving Pictures" a lot more than I ever had before. I listened to a lot of Rush this year in general.

This year I listened to a lot from Buckethead, The Clarks, Buddaheads and Hoodoo Gurus, but the single album I probably played most often is ‘Sounds From The Underground’ from Raleigh based Urban Soil...

    The Cure - Mixed Up
    Morphine - Cure For Pain
Sarah McLachlan - Fumbling Towards Ecstasy
Lorenna McKennitt - Book of Secrets

My most listened to 'TGP-approved' album was probably Wish You Were Here.

I did listen to quite a bit of Snarky Puppy. I've been getting back into playing a bit more bass and he's my inspiration of things I'll never be able to even stumble through.

Been casually following the band for a while.
Then i heard I Shaved My Legs on the radio and was hooked. Then this came out and i couldn't stop listening.

Great record. These guys have an infectious energy about them

Notable as this is probably the first time since kanye released MBDTF that a new release dominated my listening for the year.

Listened to quite a few, and a mixed bag at that.
The ones that kept popping up and a few yearly repeat offenders:

Allan Holdsworth - The Sixteen Men of Tain
Wildwood Kin - Salt of the Earth, Turning Tides
Nick Johnston - Wide Eyes in the Dark
    Chopin - Nocturnes
Daniel Lanois - Acadie (Goldtop Edition)
Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
    Peter Gabriel - So, Us
Matt Schofield - Live 2017 in Boca Raton, Florida at The Funky Biscuit (not an album per se)
    Nirvana - Bleach
Alice in Chains - Dirt, Facelift

I picked that up on vinyl at some yard sale or goodwill years ago but never actually listened to it until a month or two ago, and LOVE it. It's such a great album.
