When you take two guitars to a gig, make sure you'd be happy to play the full gig on either one.

When you're one of several bands playing an event, lower everyone's expectations that everything will go to schedule.

Don’t wait for inspiration to strike, to write music. Write and record often.

More gain does not mean more power in a guitar tone.

A bass is not an "easier" instrument to play than a guitar.

Many singers can sing on pitch and have good range. Very few have style.

Make the most of what you do know, there's a whole lot more that you don't know.

Transport your guitar in the rear passenger footwell. Not the boot/trunk.

Always use the left-right-left method when approaching stop signs.

As it says in the scriptures, " The lion and the lamb shall lie down together, but the lamb won't get much sleep."

Incorporate Flatpicking, Hybrid and Fingerstyle into your playing/practicing routine. They work together to make your right/strum hand develop much, much faster.

Amateurs practice until they can get it right; Professionals practice until they can't get it wrong.

Less is More. Simpler is Better. It's all in your hands. And the Groove comes first ;)

Oh, and one more: if I can’t sell it on a Tele, I need to check my playing.

Listen. Even if you're right, always listen to the other person (yeah, that took me a while to figure out)

If you have really bad stomach cramps, and need to get to a bathroom quick, always make sure you are fully seated before you release.

If you hit a bad note, just bend it up a half step. You are always one fret away from a “correct” note.

No matter how many hours you spend shredding your guitar, its your singing that will get you the gig.

Your "show" / stage charisma is far more important than song selection.
