So long if you play blues electric of any stripe...

and as long as it is the first [or only] pedal in your chain, it will be a staple of your tone for years to come.

It is the original standalone blues overdrive.

I love mine.

I've had 3...expect extreme coloration and best results into a clean amp platform...nice feeling pedal but I never bonded with it probably because my amp just doesn't do pristine cleans...

while it certainly does do wonderful blues tones i would have to say its not LIMITED to that--at all. Its a great overdrive and very versatile. It is picky about placement and certain ones sound pretty different from other ones. I really miss mine too, and will probably end up with another one before too long.

My number 1 for Blackface amps. 90% of the time it is on and I place it first in the chain and stack it into Dyna Red and Little Green. When I play my Bassman it doesn´t get that much use.

I have tried many others that I wanted to like but there is something special about Baby Blue:)

with the number of pedals you have or had, you've got only one amp??

i have one as well. it is a pretty dark sounding prdal that almost could be called distortion. I does real well with squeaky clean amps, and at low volumes where you can't crank it up...They are Waaaayyy overpriced ! I could think of many otheres that cost less and offer more !

Dark sounding pedal? I thought it was rather crisp and bright...

What are the ones in your opinion that cost less and offer more. Thanks.

it's a VERY cool pedal......and i too thought it was interesting that it is actually a FUZZ, not an overdrive.

you have to try it with your rig and guitar to see if you "bond" with it.....:beer

it is one of BJFE's most picky pedals for placement ,amp, and what pedals you may have to get along with it.if you are going to really get the best from it ,you will have to spend time to mix your gear and move the knobs on the BBOD to find the tone.you will, but it may take a bit to get there.not a fit all pedal, the first 100 had a lower gain than those made after.mine is one of the first made-it loves my jtm-45,it likes my blackface amps.I goose mine with a gristle king-they do well together

Thanks Bobby. It's a fuzz-kind circuit but does it sounds like a fuzz?

no...it SOUNDS like an overdrive for sure.....but has a bit of a fuzzy edge to it.

it's a pretty unique pedal, and is indeed a bit "finicky" at times.

i had the chance to have one for a few weeks, and spent some time with it. i liked it a LOT......but did not end up buying it. still kinda regret not buying that one.

So it's like all my Lovepedal, they are not fuzzes but all have a fuzzy edge (Balance-Woodrow-COT50 Silver 'lil China-Lo Driver & Tchula)
My amps are '65 JTM45 and a '72 Bandmaster Reverb.
