YouTube "How To" Videos - Instructions for Making Them

    Look... if something takes 2 minutes to do...

    ...Don't make a 12 minute video that has 10 minutes of theory and mumbling and garbage and then 2 minutes of how-to... skip to the how-to...

    Oh, and one more time... STOP SHOOTING THAT STUPID VERTICAL VIDEO!

    I remember seeing a book on the basics of computers that spent a whole chapter on Copy & Paste. No kidding!

    The same thing occurs in novels where the author spends 3 pages describing a desk that is irrelevant to the plot.

    Being long-winded is nothing new and I agree a certain balance has to be achieved to make a tutorial video interesting and informative. Occasionally, I see people go the opposite way and produce a video that is too short and therefore doesn't answer all questions.
