Nice gig Lucid! I have to admit to being a good deal envious of the space and grooves the band allows...your soulful playing fits the band perfectly...very nice chemistry goin on there.

This summer I'm going to California for the first time ever, and I just 'google mapped' San Jose to Monterey, just incase y'all are playing, I had no idea I was going to be so close :D

    OMG ...:jo

    What a treasure Jack ...

Looks like a real workingman's axe
which could most likely pull off any gig ...

    Man ... Wow!!

yeah, my ibanez as-200 doesn't really see that much action now that i have the sadowsky. it has joe barden two tone pickups that are noiseless when split into single coils. i've been taking this guitar to my jazz gigs and it sounds amazing. it's very similar to the one that john abercrombie has. isn't your melancon similar too?

    Never heard of those...
Noiseless when split... that's wonderful ...

Naw, my Melancon's just have single coils:

Yo ... I've given purchasing a Suhr a great deal of thought too...
Though I've still never played one as of yet ...

However, my Melancon Strat is a great axe ...
Maybe I should just drop some fl pickups & an ssc system in it ,,,,

that might be a good idea although your melancon sounds great as it is. i played a bunch of suhr strats a couple of months ago and they are amazing instruments (although none of them had the fl pickups). i want to find one that has a neck like my sadowsky but don't know which shape/size that would be. i would highly recommend checking the suhr's out if you're gonna get a strat.

I could only imagine how good your Sadowsky neck might feel ...

A bass player I perform frequently with has a Sadowsky bass
that feels so wonderful to play, that it's inspirational enough to
make one want to take up bass if they owned one ...

    Thanks Echos ...

In these particular clips the lead singer isn't trying to vocally be a background horn section
or to imitate a comping wah-wah pedal which he often does ...
Once he gets going, that wonderful space that a trio allows is gone ..

The trip is, he's imitates other instruments, Al Jarreau style, very well ..
So since he's leader of the band.. it's just something I have to deal with...

It quickly becomes part of the musical whole ....
Can't beat it... so ya got to work with it ...

Great band and playing, Joe. Cool wah, nice comping and voicings and rhythmic feel. I like those -6 tritones. And those little flurries of notes are killer. Very tasteful and appropriate all around. Rock solid grooves. Nice unique arrangements that fit like a spandex prom dress (yee ha!). The crowd thought so too! I like the drum solo on the fills at the end of the Santana thing. The whole Afro-Latin thing ....drummers like that, and so do I! If you guys were out east, I'd hire ya just to sit in (like I got the dough...)! Man, you got it workin! Looks like loads of fun!
