Just got my zendrive. Running it into a BF Fender clone. It's really the shizzle. Gorgeously fat tones with the note bloom you expect from the dumble type of amp. Reams of tones ala Ford and Carlton.

I haven't had time to experiment with other tones but I'm hoping it'll do the semi-distorted thing just as well. I'll report back more this weekend.

I'll post some clips in a week or two when I get time.

    P.S.

Also tried the RC Booster through the Zendrive. 'Twas a beautiful thing...:D

The Zendrive is great, I saw RF using one through a Super Reverb and Les Paul. I traded for one and love it.

I just spent about 30 minutes going back and forth between a new Zendrive + the clean channel of a new Fuchs ODS50 super-SLX :), and the OD channel of the same amp.

I gotta say, Alf has certainly nailed a very big chunk of it. I can't quite get an exact match yet, and so far the amp would "win", but I could see how someone could be very happy with the ZD.

It'll be a better contest when the Fargen amp gets here...

Ordered a Fargen / Soloway Classic after being knocked out by the sound of one at the LI Guitar Show.

Right now, what I'm hearing the amp do I can't yet imagine the pedal doing. I don't want to implicitly diss the ZD, though, because it's truly a wonderful sounding gadget.

I literally couldn't stop playing it. Bad news, given my workload. :D

I just ordered one a few days ago. It's backordered a couple of weeks though so I'm gonna have to stop reading all the positive reviews until then or it's gonna kill me!

Mine just rolled in this week, worth the wait.

Me to, I think this is a killer combo. To me the Zen is a great extesion of the RC.

    Thanks Alf!!

    Jack.
The Zendrive2 is a tube version of the Zendrive with more tonal options, and a little different sound. Its just plain awesome!
The NU-Valve is a Brittish flavored pedal that uses nu vistor tubes to do its thing(Not in production yet!). Its along the lines of a Vox flavor, although it will do a lot more too. All of Alfs pedals are very amp friendly. Above all, they all sound like amps, not pedals, as you well know by now.

    :)

I just got my Zendrive (1) and now I feel a case of GAS coming on for a Zendrive 2. Holy cow, these boutique builders have got to quit making such nice gear... for the sake of my kids' college funds.
