Zingaro 50-watt 1x12 Combo - my new gigging amp!

    Just acquired a '50-watt Zingaro 1x12 combo from Bill Carson (aka Rhythm-changes).

    Picked it up from Fedex, and took it straight on over to tonight's gig. What an awesome amp!

    I've been gigging a Matchless Chieftain 1x12 combo for several years now, but got bitten by the Dumble-vibe after owning (for far too briefly) a Two-Rock Topaz and a Glaswerks ODS, both of which got sold off during financially difficult periods.

    Well, this Zingaro rocks! I spent almost no time fiddling with the controls, and was able to quickly dial-in exactly what I was looking for... "On-the-edge-of-breakup" with a very tight bottom end, to pair-up nicely with the P90s in my '53 ES-175 and my '64 ES-330. And let me tell you, they both sounded spectacular through this amp.

    I got my Zingaro head a few weeks back and it's very impressive.
    I'll bet your 330 and 175 sound amazing.

    Congrats on an amazing amp! SOD2 owner here and lovin' every minute of it. Gary's stuff is just off-the-hook pro gear. His stuff is "lifer" gear for me.

    Hey Dave, glad to see you with a GW again. I love the little Zingaros, I have a 25W that is my main horse around and jam amp. Let me know if you have any questions.

    For you guys looking for something different, try the WGS Alinco in a Zingaro, we just did a Zingaro for Nicky Moroch (100W) with the WGS alinco and it sound flipping amazing.

    Can you describe how the WGS Alinco differs from a Celestion G12-65 in a Zingaro.

    I have one of those speakers. Quite nice actually. Like the Jensen Blackbird I have as well.

    I had one, I used it to with a 335, it sounded great. Great amp fer sure!

    I tried the BH HP in the Zingaro- didn't like it.

    That Blackbird sounds cool though.

    The 12-65 is killer- I tried it with a 2X12 of Greenbacks as well. GNARLY good!

    Congrats Dave-Great decision to grab that amp.

    Way ahead of you guys on that one!!! ;) Been using a Blackhawk HP in the Forte 3D112 for a few months now and getting rave compliments on it. Here's a clip from a 9-10-2011 gig. (This is mic'ed through the PA, but does capture the vibe pretty closely.)

    The only drawback I'd say is that it can be a little dark when dialing in spanky SC tones, so you gotta' dial in more treble and presence for those tones that might be readily apparent. But, it's a KILLER match for the RF channel with bridge HBs.

    To my ears, the BH-HP is smoother and fuller and it doesn't have the nasal mids that the Heritage Celestion G12-65 can sometimes have which, BTW, I don't hear in the new Scumback M75-LHDC.
