Just acquired a '50-watt Zingaro 1x12 combo from Bill Carson (aka Rhythm-changes).

Picked it up from Fedex, and took it straight on over to tonight's gig. What an awesome amp!

I've been gigging a Matchless Chieftain 1x12 combo for several years now, but got bitten by the Dumble-vibe after owning (for far too briefly) a Two-Rock Topaz and a Glaswerks ODS, both of which got sold off during financially difficult periods.

Well, this Zingaro rocks! I spent almost no time fiddling with the controls, and was able to quickly dial-in exactly what I was looking for... "On-the-edge-of-breakup" with a very tight bottom end, to pair-up nicely with the P90s in my '53 ES-175 and my '64 ES-330. And let me tell you, they both sounded spectacular through this amp.

Thanks to Bill for a great packing job and a truly painless transaction!

    Congrats on your NAD!
I got my Zingaro head a few weeks back and it's very impressive.
I'll bet your 330 and 175 sound amazing.
    G12-65?

Congrats on an amazing amp! SOD2 owner here and lovin' every minute of it. Gary's stuff is just off-the-hook pro gear. His stuff is "lifer" gear for me.

Hey Dave, glad to see you with a GW again. I love the little Zingaros, I have a 25W that is my main horse around and jam amp. Let me know if you have any questions.

For you guys looking for something different, try the WGS Alinco in a Zingaro, we just did a Zingaro for Nicky Moroch (100W) with the WGS alinco and it sound flipping amazing.

    Gary,

Can you describe how the WGS Alinco differs from a Celestion G12-65 in a Zingaro.

I have one of those speakers. Quite nice actually. Like the Jensen Blackbird I have as well.

I tried the BH HP in the Zingaro- didn't like it.

    That Blackbird sounds cool though.

The 12-65 is killer- I tried it with a 2X12 of Greenbacks as well. GNARLY good!

Congrats Dave-Great decision to grab that amp.

Way ahead of you guys on that one!!! ;) Been using a Blackhawk HP in the Forte 3D112 for a few months now and getting rave compliments on it. Here's a clip from a 9-10-2011 gig. (This is mic'ed through the PA, but does capture the vibe pretty closely.)

The only drawback I'd say is that it can be a little dark when dialing in spanky SC tones, so you gotta' dial in more treble and presence for those tones that might be readily apparent. But, it's a KILLER match for the RF channel with bridge HBs.

To my ears, the BH-HP is smoother and fuller and it doesn't have the nasal mids that the Heritage Celestion G12-65 can sometimes have which, BTW, I don't hear in the new Scumback M75-LHDC.
